CABARROGUIS, Quirino, April 20 (PIA)-The provincial government here is on the process of completing all the equipment and facilities needed for the establishment of a molecular laboratory in the province particularly at the Quirino Province Medical Center (QPMC).

Based on the reports of the Municipal Health Offices, there are delays in the arrival of RT-PCR test results from the molecular laboratories in Isabela due to the increasing number of swab specimens being sent to those laboratories.

Dr. Roger Baguioen, QPMC chief, reported that the molecular laboratory will be established at the TB Dots Center which is a separate building from the QPMC main building.
The chief of hospital also reported that a team from the DOH has already visited the site to evaluate and made some recommendations for the additional needs of the laboratory.
He also informed Gov. Cua and the IATF members that the DOH will be providing a biosafety cabinet and this will be hauled thru a cargo truck as soon as the renovation and improvement of the building will be completed.
Dr. Baguioen also sought the assistance of the six local government units to in the recruitment of medical technologists to be assigned at the molecular laboratory. (MDCT/TCB/PIA 2-Quirino)
