CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, May 27 (PIA) - The Department of Public Works and Highways - Isabela Fourth District Engineering Office (DPWH-4th DEO) has completed the widening of the Sinsayon - Rizal Section of the Santiago Bypass Road in Santiago City, Isabela.
The project worth P68.280 million includes the construction of additional lanes on both sides of the said bypass road project with a length of 3,598 lineal meters.
DPWH 4th District Engineering Office head Engr. Edmund B. De Luna said that about 4,812 motorists pass by the Sinsayon - Rizal Section daily and that the widening works is necessary to improve the mobility of vehicles and the public.
He also added that the newly-widened road section will facilitate faster delivery of basic services to the residents and will hasten the transportation of agricultural and commercial products within the locality without hassle of traffic.
The widening project started on August 12, 2019 and was completed on March 27, 2020 and now being used by motorists traversing Santiago City going north and south directions.
The project was funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2019. (BME/MGE - PIA2/Isabela)
