Malabon bags revenue collection efficiency award

MALABON, Dec. 16 (PIO)-The Department of Finance-Bureau of Local Government Finance awarded the City of Malabon for topping anew in the Collection Target for Fees and Charges category, besting 16 other LGUs in Metro Manila.

Malabon City Treasurer Amalia Santos and other city officials received the citation during the awarding ceremonies held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on December 12, 2019.

Mayor Lenlen Oreta said transparency, accountability and prudent utilization of fees has landed Malabon City as the top local government unit (LGU) in revenue collection efficiency.

He also thanked the city's taxpayers for supporting the continuing commitment for an honest government.

"I assure you that every centavo goes to the people. Ito ay pera ng mamamayan kaya naman maingat at tapat itong ginagasta para tiyaking nabibigyang kalinga ang bawat Pamilyang Malabonian," Oreta added.

The city collected more than P240 million in fees and charges, exceeding its target of P144 million and posting a collection efficiency rate of 166.15%.
