Israel opens its border gates
Jamaica News.Net Sunday 6th July, 2008
Israel has reopened a number of border crossings into the Gaza Strip, after shutting them due to attacks.
The checkpoints were closed when Palestinian militants shot missiles into Israel on Thursday.
There have been several missiles attacks on Israel since its cease-fire with Hamas began three weeks ago.
Each time a rocket was fired into Israeli territory, the border crossings were closed.
But Israel has just announced that tests on anti-missile systems have been successful and a fully operational system will soon be in place to shoot down missiles fired from the Gaza Strip.
