Internet addresses go missing

The nonprofit agency in charge of the Internet's addresses recently lost track of its own address.
The glitch supposedly happened when an Internet registration company it oversees was persuaded to transfer the domain names to someone else.
The attack was quickly noticed, and the domain names from, ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers were restored within 20 minutes.
The domain names hijacked were ICANN.com and IANA.com.
ICANN has said that any new attacks would be dealt with by new security measures.
